Benefit "Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow Brightening Foundation: Review and Swatch

"Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow Brightening Foundation is Benefit's new foundation that was released for this summer. While I was in France, I ran out of my holy grail drugstore foundation (Revlon Colorstay) and so I decided to switch it up a bit and choose a foundation from a brand that I don't typically buy too often. The Benefit Hello Flawless Brightening foundation claims to have a buildable light to medium coverage that appears natural and brightens the skin for a healthy look. Since it is a summer foundation, it also protects the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays (SPF of 25) and is oil-free.

While the packaging of this foundation isn't too thrilling (just a hard plastic tube) its very convenient and sanitary because the product comes out through a pump. So, you don't have to worry about accidentally spilling out too much product or making gooey messes all over the sink or counter-top. (*Ahem: Im looking at you Revlon Colorstay)The packaging is also slightly see-through so that you can see exactly how much product you have used and thus keep an eye on when you need to replace it or buy a new foundation.

When I first tried this foundation, I was afraid that the coverage would not be enough for me since the consistency of the product feels thinner and more watery than most foundations. However,(and to my surprise) the foundation blends beautifully and builds very easily into a medium (yet still very natural) coverage. The foundation looks like your own skin, but more dewy, fresh and awake. So basically, the natural skin you always wanted. So I agree 100% with Benefit's claims about the look and finish of the foundation on the skin.

The wear of the foundation is also good, but not as long lasting as foundations like Revlon Colorstay (which lasts forever and a half). For skin that is normal to oily (like me), I would highly recommend to use a powder to ensure that the foundation holds up throughout the day, or bring a powder with you in your purse to touch up the foundation for the afternoon/evening. Sometimes the foundation can look a bit too dewy/shiny towards the end of the day, so powder helps a lot. If your skin is normal to dry, this foundation will probably be even better for you since it is very hydrating (you probably wont even need to powder it much, if at all)
