Beauty + Lifestyle blog posts written by yours truly...
In my last blog post, I covered all of the great makeup products that accompanied me on my recent honeymoon to Costa Rica so today's post is all about the skincare! I usually like to use trips as an excuse to finally use some of the cute travel-sized and tester products that I have received through past purchases. I can safely say that I miserably failed in this mission for this trip since I decided to be a complete genius and pack most of them away for the move to our new apartment in Florida. So.... I ended up lugging over mostly full-sized products to store under the plane. Sad face. If I could go back in time, I would still bring all of these awesome products but in travel-friendly form.
Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion- calms the redness, itch and fire-like feeling of a sunburn with cooling Aloe while also helping to preserve the longevity of your tan.
Banana Boat Protective Tanning Oil- My favorite tanning oil with SPF 15 so that you don't dry! The banana-coconut scent is perfect for the summer.
SPF 50 Sunscreen (Publix brand)- Gingers unite! While SPF 50 may seem like a lumpy, pasty overload, I'm not taking any chances with skin cancer especially as I am particularly at risk with fair skin. I buy the Publix brand of sunblock (a local grocery store chain near me) as their own brand is high quality but much cheaper than large name-brand labels.
Neutrogena Age Shield Face Sunscreen- A great sunblock to use on the sensitive facial area as it doesn't clog pores.
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel- I have been using this facial lotion off and on for the longest time and I always come back to it again and again. It truly is a "drink" for the skin and I especially love the gel form since my skin gets oily in the T-zone as the day progresses.
Lush Dream Cream- An absolute savior for skin that is extremely sensitive to harsh chemicals and fragrances. I slather this all over my body after the shower or when I'm feeling especially dry for a much needed moisture boost.
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray- This will lock in your makeup like glue and feels so cool and refreshing when spritz on the skin. Great for hot, humid weather when you really need your makeup to stay put.
The Body Shop Wild Rose Hand Cream- I kept this thrown in my purse and carry-on bag for the plane to refresh my dry hands both during and after the flight. I also like to keep a tube of it next to my sink at home since heavy soaps and detergents can do a number on hands.
Elemis Tri Enzyme Resurfacing Facial Wash- I love my little convenient travel-size version of this great face wash. It sloughs away dead skin cells to reveal a brighter complexion and encourages the skin's natural cell renewal cycle.
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Towelettes- Actually does its job and easily removes a full face of makeup. Nice and wet feeling and doesn't dry out fast like a lot of makeup remover wipes!
Nivea Lip Balm- Absolute heaven for lips craving some moisture. I love that it keeps the lips feeling hydrated for hours. Also doesn't make lips feel increasingly dry in between each use.
MAC Fast Response Eye Cream- Although I got plenty of sleep and rest on my honeymoon I still loved using this every morning under my makeup to hydrate, de-puff and eliminate any signs of dark circles in that area.
Tarte Maracuja Oil- I thought this would be a great time to test out this little travel-size version that I received with a purchase at Sephora awhile ago. I loved using this oil on my face and neck every night before bed and I would always wake up with my skin feeling so healthy and hydrated.
