As a brand, NARS has always been one of those stand-outs to me. I love their sleek black packaging, the overall clean-cut, sexy feel--and of course, the quality of the products inside. I feel they have continued to improve over the years but especially recently. They have released several new products with improved formulas and have teamed up for some great collections. I also love how they are increasingly approaching their brand in a more womanly and classy fashion. Even the names of their new shades reflect this. Shock-value names like "Orgasm" and "Deep-Throat" are now being overshadowed by shades named after Hollywood Starlets, women in mythology, or simple French words like "Vanille" (means vanilla). I may be digging too deep (as per my usual self), but I just love little things like that.
The products I chose to talk about in this post are all extremely high quality and are ones I would (or have) repurchased again and again. They are my never-fails that I just can't do without:
1.) NARS Laguna Bronzer- This is my holy grail bronzer and has been for years now. You just can't beat the smooth, finely-milled texture that allows this to blend flawlessly into the skin. No matter how heavy-handed I apply this it always builds so beautifully and maintains a gorgeous skin-like appearance. I love the red undertones which allows this to pull the perfect, natural shade of brown. It never looks orange or caked-on and is great not only for bronzing the skin, but also for contouring in more specific areas. Out of the zillion-and-one bronzers I've tried, nothing comes close to this supreme champion.
2.) NARS Audacious Lipsticks- NARS recently reformulated their lipsticks into a new and improved line and I'm literally awe-struck. Never EVER have I experienced a lipstick so creamy, so pigmented, and so luxurious as these. Every detail is simply stunning and thought out to the tee. The packaging has a magnetic top so you never have to worry about losing the cap (and not gonna lie, it's SO fun to play with). The lipstick itself is shaped with ultra-crisp, sexy lines with the brand name etched into the front of the product itself. Absolutely breath-taking is probably the only way I can describe the line of shades and I love that they are all named after famous Hollywood starlets (so that you can feel like a starlet yourself when applying them). I could go on and on about these until the end of time--they are just so well executed and I wish I could buy every shade. The shade I currently own is "Anna", a mauve-purple tone.
3.) NARS Creamy Concealer- I finally climbed on the massive band wagon of beauty bloggers to try this concealer. Let's just say I am NOT disappointed. As in its description, creamy is definitely the first word I would use to describe it. It applies wonderfully smooth and doesn't crease or cake under the eye area. I love the no mess factor since you can easily apply it with its doe-foot applicator straight onto any problem area.
4.) NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadows- I honestly can't even call this an eyeshadow. It's an experience. Yeah, it's that good. That gorgeous. That unique. I literally just want to stand on the end of the Titanic bow while staring lovingly at a handful of these with Celine Dion singing "My Heart Will Go On" in the background. But I digress. I know I sound dramatic but if you like shimmer or metallic shades these are IT. Every color is so gorgeous and unique when swatched and some--like "Cassiopeia"--are even duochrome. I love the way these reflect in the light and how buttery and intense they are.
5.) NARS Crystal Powder- A great, translucent powder to set the face. I love that it doesn't create a white cast across my face (as a lot of translucent powders can). It is very finely-milled so it doesn't make the face look powdery and keeps its skin-like appearance. Crystal particles reflect light off the face so that it looks more flawless than usual. When I run out of this product I will probably buy the loose version instead of the pressed version though. I find it a bit hard to get as much product as I want out of the pan.
