Blush is one of those products I become weirdly obsessed with in the fall. I just love the idea of the rosy, wind-swept glow the cheeks have in the colder weather. It oozes femininity to me for some reason. Mauve, browns and plum tones have always been unsung heroes to me and I feel they are finally getting the credit they're due this fall. Kylie Jenner unleashed an explosion of drooling zombie minions obsessed with mauve tones from the photos of her stunning mauve lips on her Instagram account. Thank you little Kardashian because mauve is the bomb.com and I'm loving cruising on the mauve zombie train.
.) Milani Baked Blush in "Red Vino"- Probably one of the most "high-end" blushes at the drugstore for its blendability and awesome pigmentation. No drugstore blush compares to this champ and this color is no exception. I adore the golden marbling and flecks throughout the blush. It gives the cheeks a beautiful soft glow without tacky, chunky glitter. This color pulls to more of the burgundy or plum side of the mauve family. It's SUPER pigmented though so make sure to use a soft hand when applying this.
.) Benefit Rockateur Blush- I've dubbed this one as my "every season blush." The color is seriously beautiful and appropriate for any type of weather or occasion. It's a rose-gold mauve color that will suit any skin tone or hair color and I just can't stop loving on this! Not gonna lie, it smells like grandma's flowery perfume but that won't stop my huge crush.
.) Makeup Forever Blush in "220"- A cream blush with a stunning rose-petal mauve hue. It's definitely the longest wearing cream blush I've ever experienced and it blends like true butter into the face. I love the consistency and formula of these blushes. See my longer, more in-depth review of these blushes in my blog post, Makeup Forever Releases New HD Blush Collection for Spring 2014
.) MAC Blush in "Breathe of Plum"- This has been my absolute favorite, go-to fall blush for years now. It is a mauve on the more plum side and is so flattering , feminine and gorgeous on every woman.
.) MAC Blush in "Mocha"- Very similar in color to the Makeup Forever 220 blush listed above--but slightly more muted and brown in its undertone. A great, blendable and pigmented blush that doesn't disappoint.
