How to Clean False Lashes

With Christma-hana-kwanzica parties galore, there's really no better time to pop on a set of false lashes and get festive. While there's no better feeling than pulling them off after a long night, there is always an edge of disappointment. Those pretty lashes you bought the other day are nasty with dried glue and old, hardened mascara. Most of us just throw them away at this point but lashes are actually designed to handle more than one use. You'll be surprised how easy it is to clean them. Just a pull here, a swipe there--and you'll have your goopy lashes looking better than a groomed purebred shih tzu.

  • - your already worn fake lashes
  • - tweezers
  • - q-tips
  • - a paper towel
  • - eye makeup remover or rubbing alcohol
  • - an old toothbrush or eyelash comb

Use a pair of tweezers to gently pull off any leftover dried glue. Be careful not to break the lash band.

Lay a paper towel down with the eyelashes placed on top. Dip a q-tip in eye makeup remover or alcohol and gently rub the eyelash hairs until all of the mascara comes off.

If eyelash hairs are clumped together, use an old clean toothbrush or eyelash comb to brush them out and separate the lashes.
