5 Makeup Inspirations for Thanksgiving

5 Makeup Inspirations for Thanksgiving | www.annemariemitchell.com It's almost time to stuff yourself crazy then spend the rest of the day in a food induced coma. Before diving into a plate of American scrumptiousness you can dive into your makeup bag with the help of these Thanksgiving makeup inspirations. You're face will be dressed up better than your fully dressed turkey.

If you're going to a glitzy Thanksgiving party with your family, wear makeup fit for the occasion with some stunning glitter on the eyes. Opt for bronze and gold glitters like MAC Reflects Bronze or try out the gorgeous Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eyeshadows. For full on glam, apply a gold or dark eyeshadow as an opaque base then lightly pat glitter glue on top. Use a flat brush to pack on your glitter. For a more subtle dose of sparkle, line your bottom lash line, smudge it out, and then apply your glitter over top. Makeup Artist Amrezy is my muse when it comes to glamorous, glittery looks.

Take inspiration from Ukrainian model Natalie Danish (@natali_danish) and go for a gorgeous matte look this Thanksgiving. Matte colors look stunning--especially in the colder winter months. Matte colors also photograph the best so you can rest assured you'll look great in all the family photos taken on the day. Pair some black eyeliner with some neutral matte shadows and maybe a pop of bold color. Matte, mauve lips like the ones Kylie Jenner sports are all the rage and I'm loving it. I like to pair a liner like MAC Soar or Whirl with a mauve lipstick like MAC Brave or Faux and you're all set.

You just cant beat a sultry bold lip color for the fall and winter seasons. Spice up your Thanksgiving with a vampy plum lip or deep burgundy color. I recommend going lighter on the eyes when wearing an intense color on the lips so that the two aren't competing for the spotlight. To ensure the lipstick doesn't budge, first line your lips with a similar colored lipliner (or a shade or two darker for extra dimension) and fill them in. This will prevent your lipstick from bleeding and give your lipstick a little buddy to hold on to so that it doesn't go all over the place while your stuffing yourself with stuffing.

Warm colors channel the theme colors of Thanksgiving--red, orange yellow and the like. Apply a warm golden orange shade using windshield wiping motions in your crease and cover the lid with a bright vanilla color. For added dimension, add a dark brown to the outer crease of the eyes. Pair it with a nude or brown lip with warm undertones and you're all set and festive for Thanksgiving Day. Makeup Artist Rose Siard (right) creates such gorgeous warm looks--and every kind of look for that matter--which I peruse regularly for inspiration.

Now I'm gonna be real with you for a sec. A lot of people just want to be as cozy as possible on Thanksgiving Day. Cozy= no makeup and Turkey with cranberry sauce goodness all while in my sweatpants. If you're ultimate goal is to be as comfy as possible while still remaining half alive looking for parents and family, opt out for a simple few coats of mascara, a light foundation and blush. Rosie Huntington Whitely is my idol concerning the natural makeup landscape with a healthy rosy flush, a dab of lip color, and lightly defined eyes.
